Juan Martinez is a Colombian-born director, cinematographer, and photographer who moved to the United States at the age of five. A graduate of Florida State University's College of Motion Picture Arts, Class of 2026, Juan is passionate about telling stories through compelling visuals and meaningful collaboration.
As Director of Photography, he shot the 2026 short films Tesoro and Why Am I Here?, as well as the 2025 short film Jit. While he loves creating striking imagery, he believes that great cinematography should always support the story first. His goal is to create visuals that not only look beautiful but also help audiences connect with the characters and emotions on screen.
Juan's love for photography started as a teenager and continues to shape the way he sees the world. He is especially drawn to fashion and street photography, where he enjoys capturing genuine human moments and finding stories in everyday life. This background has given him a strong eye for composition, light, and authentic visual storytelling.

Known for being a team player, Juan enjoys working with others to bring ideas to life. He values collaboration, adapts quickly to challenges, and approaches every project with a problem-solving mindset. Whether on set or behind a camera in the street, he is always looking for ways to create meaningful and memorable images.
Juan hopes to continue growing as a filmmaker by working on larger productions and expanding into more narrative and commercial projects. No matter the scale of the production, he aims to create work that is visually memorable, emotionally engaging, and leaves a lasting impression.
